How will the teams be picked?
Stewart and Scott/Damian will manage the A and B teams respectively.
Each week one of Stewart or Scott/Damian will email players on a Monday morning for confirmation of availability for Saturday’s game. Replies will be expected back with Stewart and Harvey by 5pm on Tuesday. Stewart and Scott/Damian will pick the squads and teams on a Tuesday night (input also given Lloyd and the club captain as necessary). Stewart or Scott/Damian will then email notification of the squad selection to players on Wednesday morning. This notification will list the players needed for each squad, and any extra players can be stood down or attend on voluntary basis.
Can I play for both teams?
Absolutely. There will be a degree of flexibility between the two teams, so that players can progress from one team to the other. The league rules are as follows: if a number of players are moved from one team to the other, then only three can return to the existing team the following week. This rule is to prevent B teams being loaded with A team “ringers” when an A team does not have a game.
In practice, we envisage that the two teams will develop a core of players that largely stay in one or other team. However, we do see that some players will naturally move from one team to the other. If a B team player if doing exceptionally well, and wishes to do so, he can progress to the A team. Similarly, if an A team regular is not required for the A team he may wish to be included in the B squad.
What do I need to do?
We need to sign up all our regulars as soon as possible. If you haven’t signed yet, please speak to Jamie Blackshaw (Jamie.Blackshaw@foodstandards.gsi.gov.uk). There is a £30 signing on fee (which covers league fees etc) which you can pay to Jamie or John Heffernan, or pay electronically direct to the club account:

If you are a new player, you will want to know that players that start each match will need to pay subs of £5, with substitutes paying £2.50.
